Growing Vegetables In A Small Space
Most gardeners think that if they have a small space for growing vegetables that the variety they can grow will be limited.
Here’s how to grow more in a small space. First, choose veggies that are quick and easy to grow such as carrots, onions and leeks. Don’t grow them in straight rows: rather, seed them in small blocks, distributing the seeds evenly.
Lettuce varieties should be chosen with great care. Select ones that are compact without large outer leaves: this will allow you to sow them closer together, producing a larger harvest.
Leafy veggies like chard, spinach and kale offer nutritious, fresh leaves throughout the season for harvesting.
Finally, add organic matter to the soil each time you sow or plant a new crop: and sow seeds in a location that receives sun for at least 6 hours a day.
