Darcey Bussell Rose

Although a lot of rose selections come across my desk this winter, there is one in particular that has grabbed my attention this year.

Darcey Bussell, a David Austin introduction, is named after the former principal ballerina of London’s Royal Ballet. It has an abundance of fully double, upright facing, deep rich crimson flowers with an intoxicating fruity fragrance. Its crimson color shows attractive hints of mauve as time passes.
Bushy and compact, ‘Darcey Bussell’ is suited to a broad range of US gardening conditions, including hot, humid and dry as well as colder climates.

All it needs is good soil preparation, feeding, mulching, watering and deadheading. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5-10. ‘Darcey Bussell’ is excellent planted in the front of garden beds and borders, and in garden containers. For more information, click on: davidaustinroses.com
