If you want to learn more about how to mitigate the damage of maintaining lush, green lawns, then check out a newly formed online resource.

Lawn Reform Coalition is made up of 9 gardening professionals from throughout the country who are experts in lawn care, lawn alternatives as well as being activists. They offer a plethora of ideas such as: design concepts for reducing or replacing lawns in your landscape, eco-friendly care of lawns and regionally appropriate drought tolerant and low maintenance lawn species.

Problems caused by conventional lawn care are plentiful : wasted rain water runoff which contributes to polluted waterways, the use of pesticides, fertilizers and gas mowers that are harmful to humans, animals, insects and the environment as well as the huge amount of time and money spent on maintaining the lawns.
