Clients of mine tend to be drawn to my philosophy that by creating a world of beauty and becoming more connected to nature, we tend to place a greater emphasis on community and kindness towards others, live healthier and more joyful existences; and ultimately leave the world a better place in which to live.
My designs tend towards a naturalized, simple style that make strong visual connections between the exteriors and interiors of homes and focus on creating garden palettes that are alive all four seasons of the year. I lean towards creating gardens that are bold in scale, with an emphasis on firm garden 'bones' and an abundance of sumptuous and hardy perennials, woody plants and deciduous and evergreen trees.
I have designed gardens throughout the Eastern coast of the United States; as well as a sprinkling of gardens abroad. My client list ranges from individuals who desire festive window boxes to celebrity clients with sprawling estates.
I want to share what I have learned over the past several years about garden design, horticulture and the relationship of humans to plants. The world of gardening is a huge and infinite one. With the advent of the internet, there exists a massive amount of information at our fingertips; which can often prove to be daunting. It is my goal to teach you key gardening skills and help you access your own personal sense of artistry so that you will become more competent and creative gardeners.
I want to pass on my conviction that it in order to live a healthy life, both emotionally and physically, that it is critical to have a strong connection to nature. Gardening to stay healthy is as important as gardening to 'create beautiful environments'. I am committed to practicing organic gardening for the homeowner and want to pass the importance of this practice onto as many individuals and corporations as I can possibly reach.
